What is the British Boarding Schools Workshop?

The British Boarding Schools Workshop (BBSW) has a well-earned reputation for being the most successful way for UK school staff to meet face-to-face with many carefully selected and reference-checked educational agents representing over 50 countries worldwide.

The BBSW is probably the most cost-effective way for schools to recruit international boarders and increase the diversity of nationalities. Over two days, school staff and agents have pre-arranged 20 minute appointments, enabling them to meet personally with both new and existing partners. This provides the opportunity for developing and enhancing long-term partnerships based on mutual trust and understanding.

Since being established in 2006, the BBSW has become known as a quality, targeted event. Two Workshops are held per year in March and November at Beaumont Estate, a first-class conference centre in Windsor, just outside of London and only a few miles from London's Heathrow International Airport.
The most successful way for international agents and UK boarding school
    staff to network . . .
    A cost-effective and time-saving opportunity to recruit/place international
    boarding students . . .
    A forum to meet face-to-face . . .

The number of international pupils in UK boarding schools is at its highest ever, according to The Independent Schools Council (ISC) annual census, published in April 2011. Data was collected in January 2011 from 1,234 member schools who report that there is now a total of 24,554 non-British boarders in UK schools, a like-for-like increase of 5.5% on last year. 10,900 new non-British boarders joined the schools in this academic year, which is an increase for the 6th year running. The largest single markets are Hong Kong, China, Germany, Spain and Russia. The category called 'Remainder of Europe' (not including Germany, Spain, Russia or France) has seen a growth of almost 25% in new pupils. Agents in all of the growth markets attend the BBSW and we are currently inviting additional agents in key areas to attend future events.

No price increases for the BBSW in 2012. We are pleased to inform schools that there will be no price increase for the BBSW in March and November 2012. We are conscious that the VAT increase this year has increased costs for schools and have therefore made a decision not to increase costs further at a time when school budgets have been frozen or reduced.
